At 5,400sqft, Drum is one of the biggest, if not the biggest recording studio in Hong Kong. We have all spent too much time in smoky smelly dark studios so our aim was to designed a space to give our guests, musicians and artists a spacious, positive and creative vibe. We have lots of windows, a tennis table and a huge balcony with a great view of a typhoon shelter and the HK harbour inlet. Eddie also loves to cook so we have a fully functional kitchen with a pizza oven, a BBQ, a sous vide machine and a fully stocked wine fridge. He will wipe you up a decent meal if you are nice. We have 4 studios control rooms and 2 recording rooms. All our rooms are fully floated floors with the recording rooms fully isolated with the “box within box” type design. Our walls have 21 layers with 2 air gaps in between. This was a very difficult build but it gives excellent recording results. All our rooms were designed by renowed studio designer TS Chan and general design was overseen by award winning architecture firm KplusK.
Our pool of talent is large, we have worked with pretty much all professionals singers, musicians and voice over artists based in HK. We use orchestral players from HK Phil, City Chamber Orchestra, Chinese Orchestra. If the talents are not in HK, we will source them from all over the world. We have have done sessions with singers from US, Choir boys from UK, African singers, voice overs from Australia etc.
